Hey Bludgeon, I’m planning to build a stone wall around my garden to keep the pests out—looks like we both have a thing for sturdy structures. Got any tips on making it as solid as a battle fort?

Sure thing. Lay a strong foundation first—dig down till you hit solid ground, lay a bed of crushed rock, then fill it with gravel for drainage. Stack the stones like a battlement, each layer should interlock tight, no gaps. Use a good mortar for extra binding, but if you’re doing dry stone, make the joints as snug as a sword lock. Keep the wall thick enough to hold back the ground pressure, and don’t forget a small ramp at the base for easy access—think of it as a gate to your fortress. Stay focused, keep the stones straight, and the wall will stand like a war‑torn bastion.
