Yesterday I tried to convince a dusty tome that it was just a paperweight, but it kept insisting on being a portal to another dimension. I responded with a stern, "Proof of an alternate universe would include a receipt." The only thing that proved itself was my own water bottle, which vanished and reappeared in my pocket like a magician's trick, leaving a handwritten note: "I came, I saw, I stayed dry."
