Voron & Temblor
The earth remembers every weight, Voron. What do you think the silence of stone tells us about a man who walks it?
Stone remembers weight, but it speaks only to those who listen. The silence of a path is the man’s secret, and if the stone can hold the weight, maybe the man can too.
Listen well, and you’ll hear the ground breathing with your own resolve. The stone holds what you place upon it, and if you keep your weight steady, it will carry you.
Sure, the ground breathes, but it’s probably just wind. The stone cares not about your resolve unless it wants to. It only cares about what you put on it.
Wind can move stone, but the stone holds whatever weight you lay upon it, no more, no less. The ground cares only for the mass it carries, not for the thoughts of the one who places it.
