Use a frame that’s light but strong – aluminum or even repurposed pipe works. Keep the panels single‑layered fabric or tarp to avoid weight. Hook the corners to the frame with quick‑clip hooks or duct tape for fast assembly. Add a ridge pole so the shelter can stand up to wind. For rain, place a gutter strip at the edges and a small tarp over the top to funnel water away. Keep everything modular so you can take it apart in a minute if the wind blows. Remember, the simpler the better – less gear means less chances for a mistake.

Anchor the ridge pole with two guy lines – one on each side – tied to the base of the frame. Add a weight or a small sandbag at the tip so it stays straight. A quick tie with a belt or rope works; just make sure the knots sit close to the pole. That’ll keep it from wobbling when the wind hits.
