Stock Stock
Hey, I've been looking at how star clusters tend to cluster in groups and it reminds me a lot of price action in the markets—clusters of trades, momentum, everything. What do you think about drawing parallels between the patterns in the cosmos and the way stocks behave?
Universe Universe
I see the appeal—you’re spotting patterns in a noisy environment, which is what we do in astrophysics too. In the cosmos, gravity and initial conditions shape the clusters, a deterministic process over billions of years. In the markets, human psychology, regulations, and liquidity create feedback loops, and the system is far more chaotic and short‑lived. The math can be similar, but the underlying drivers are very different. It’s a useful exercise for noticing structure, just don’t let the comparison obscure the fact that one is a physical law, the other a human‑made system.

Sounds about right—both systems have patterns, but the forces are different. I’ll keep that in mind so the cosmos doesn’t fool me into thinking markets are physics, just a complex, human‑driven version of it.
Universe Universe
Sounds like a solid approach—recognize the parallels, but stay aware of the human element that keeps the markets distinct from the stars.

Exactly, keep the data front and the human sentiment in the backseat—don’t let the starry comparison blind you to the human noise.
