Sentinel Sentinel
Hey Digital, I've been thinking about how AI could help us keep the town safe, but I'm worried it might also get into people's privacy. What do you think about balancing protection and privacy?
Digital Digital
Balancing safety and privacy is like trying to keep the lights on while keeping the curtains drawn. I think the key is to let the AI focus only on what it really needs to see—anomalies, patterns, not the mundane details of people’s lives. Use anonymized data, encrypt everything, and give the system clear cut rules about what it can and can’t store. That way you get a guard that knows when a fire is breaking out without knowing which neighbor likes their fern. If you’re still uneasy, make sure the community can audit the system and that the AI never becomes a surveillance tool. Keeps the town safe, keeps the privacy intact.
Sentinel Sentinel
Good plan. Keeping the AI focused on real threats while keeping folks’ private lives out of it sounds fair. Just remember to check the rules often; no guard should get out of line.

Sounds good—just make sure the guard keeps a ruler in its pocket, so it never goes over the line.
Sentinel Sentinel
Got it. The guard will stay within the limits and keep its measurements handy. We'll check in regularly to make sure no one gets too close.
