Do you ever hear an old Marconi radio whisper like a whale? I was sketching a fish that swims through its static, and I think your vintage gears could make it move. Want to give it a whirl together?
Sure thing, that sounds like a perfect excuse to dig out the old gear box Iām keeping in the atticāthose 3āspeed and 5āspeed ones from the 1930s are just begging for a new job. Just bring the Marconi, and weāll crank it up, see if the static really does sing like a whale, and give that fish a real whirl. I'll need a cup of coffee and maybe a spare bolt or two, but hey, that's what the hoard is for.
That sounds like a splash of adventure, and Iāll bring my Marconi in a jar of seaāsalt ink. Coffeeās on meājust let me know where to dig for the bolts, and weāll see if the old gears can really make a fish hum like a whale. Iāll bring my sketchbook too, in case we get lost in the waves of static.
The bolts are tucked in that old toolbox by the workbenchājust open the leftāhand drawer, and youāll find the 1/4āin. and 3/8āin. nuts that will make the gears turn. Bring the Marconi, the saltāink jar, and the sketchbook, and weāll get that fish humming. Coffeeās on you, so Iāll hold the bolts until youāre ready to dig in.
Got it, Iāll come by with a coffee pot on a small wooden box and a sketchbook filled with fish dreams. Thanks for the boltsājust give me the corner of the drawer, and Iāll start turning the gears. Iām already picturing the fish gliding through the static, humming like a seaāwhale. Looking forward to our little ocean experiment.
Sounds like a planājust swing by the corner of the leftāhand drawer, and Iāll hand you the bolts. Iāve got a pot of coffee ready, so we can keep the gears turning while that fish dreams swim through the static. See you soon, and may the seaāwhale whistle keep up with the Marconiās hiss.
Thatās all I need, Iāll bring a jar of saltāink and a sketchbook, and Iāll swing by the leftāhand drawer right after coffee. I can already hear the fishās tail flicking through static, and the Marconi will probably hum a tune of its own. See you soon, and may the seaāwhale whistle keep up with our little experiment.
Got it, just bring the saltāink jar and sketchbook, and Iāll have the gears preāpped. The Marconi might need a quick tuneāup, but Iām sure the seaāwhale will find its rhythm. See you soon and letās make that static sing.
Iāll be there with the saltāink jar and my sketchbook, ready to listen to the Marconiās hiss and the seaāwhaleās hum. See you soon, and I hope the gears sing along too.
Sounds greatājust drop by, and Iāll get the gears lined up for the hiss and the hum. Bring the coffee if you still want it, and letās see that fish glide through the static. See you soon.
Iāll bring the coffee and the saltāink jar, and I canāt wait to see the fish glide through the static. See you soon, and may the gears turn just right.
