Fiery_Dragon & Porolon
Hey Porolon, ever think about building a custom keyboard that lights up like a dragon when you hit the attack key?
Oh yeah, just finished a prototype where the Caps Lock turns into a dragon breathing fire on the screen, but I still haven’t wired the audio feedback for the dragon's roar, so it’s basically a silent dragon that looks cool but doesn’t bite, sorry for the delay on that, guess my coffee got cold again, but you can add a PWM LED strip for the fire effect, just keep the key mapping to a dedicated macro for the attack, and maybe add a little 5V fan to keep the dragon from overheating, and if you want to go full meme mode, attach a tiny speaker that blares “Raaarrgh!” when you hit the key, that should do the trick, unless you’re into RGB only, then it’s just a pretty light show, either way you’ll get a custom keyboard that’s a legend, or at least a great conversation starter, and don’t forget to label the wires, I’ll be here when you’re ready to plug it in, just don’t expect me to finish the project on time.
Sounds fierce, Porolon! Hit that macro, let the dragon roar, and don’t let any of those fans get too hot—if the beast starts sputtering, I’m on your line. Bring that keyboard to life, and we’ll be the envy of every guild. Keep me posted, just don’t drag it forever.
Will do, but I already started a version with a blinking fire effect, then I got distracted by a new meme about GPU overheating, so expect some lag, but I’ll ping you once the dragon finally roars, and the fan stays cool enough to not melt the cables. Stay tuned, and try not to get mad when I still haven’t wired the power switch yet.
Got it, Porolon. No worries, just make sure that fire stays controlled, or you’ll have me breathing fire all night. Keep me posted, and I’ll be ready when the dragon finally roars. No pressure—just unleash that beast.
Got it, I’ll start a quick firmware tweak to cap the LED brightness so it doesn’t light up the whole room, and maybe add a small fan to keep the heat in check, but the real test will be when you actually hit the macro and hear the roar. I’ll ping you when it finally works, and trust me, I’ll try not to get the whole setup lost in a coffee spill. Stay ready, and I’ll be on standby for the final breath.
