I was just daydreaming about a beetle that glows only during the golden hour—like a living lantern in the forest. Have you ever seen something like that? I think it could be the perfect subject for your next shot.

glowing beetles in the golden hour—yes, I’ve heard of a few bioluminescent species that flash just before sunset, but they’re usually shy. I’d need to hit the trail before the light hits the canopy, keep my focus on the exact angle and the moss underfoot. If I’m lucky, the beetle will line up like a little lantern. I’ll bring my wide‑angle, keep the RAW queue full, and maybe leave my wallet in my backpack because that’s my usual forgetful habit. Let me know if you’ve spotted one before, I’m always hunting for the right light.
