Slonik, have you ever thought about how a single comma can change the rhythm of a sentence, kind of like a pause between reps in a workout?
Yeah, a comma is the pause between a set and the next, makes the whole thing flow or feel like a misstep. Too many, and you’re doing endless reps without finish; too few, and you’re sprinting without a break. Same thing with sentences.
I totally get that, it’s like the breathing you forget when you’re in the middle of a set and it ends up being the difference between a smooth finish and a shaky lift.
Exactly, it’s the breath you hold when you push the last rep. Keep that rhythm and you’ll finish strong.
Sounds like you’re already training your sentences with the right tempo—just keep checking that breath between them, like a cue for a good rep, and you’ll keep that rhythm strong.
