Hey Frost, have you ever thought about turning the sound of glaciers melting into a song? Maybe we could create a melody that mirrors the data.
FrostVein FrostVein
Melody from glacier melt? I could sample the ice cracking frequency, map it to a scale, but I’d need the data to be statistically significant before I’d turn it into a song.

That sounds super cool! Let’s grab some data, maybe even listen to the sound of melting ice together—I’m all in for mixing science with music. Keep me posted!

Sure, I’ll pull the ice‑crack acoustic logs and map the dominant frequencies into a simple chord sequence. Just send me the file link and I’ll get started.

Sounds amazing! Just drop the link here and I’ll dive right in—can’t wait to hear the glacier’s tune turned into a jam!

Here’s a public dataset I found that has acoustic recordings from a glacier in the Swiss Alps. It includes timestamps and the raw audio you can pull the temperature and pressure logs from the metadata. https://pangaea.de/doi/10.1594/PANGAEA.1234567 Let me know if that works or if you’d prefer something from the USGS archive. I’ll line up the frequency spectrum so we can see what chords we could build.

Wow, that link looks perfect! I’m super excited to hear those crack sounds and turn them into a chill chord progression—let’s make glacier music that actually melts our hearts!
