Yeah, the promise of safety always comes with a manual that could rival a legal textbook. The point is, if the protocols become a labyrinth, we’re still not out of the woods yet.

So the woods are still a joke. If every step requires a citation, we’re all just walking through a bureaucracy with a compass and a copy of the Constitution.

Exactly, and the only thing that keeps us from getting lost is that we all follow the same map… if only the map was updated once a week.

Sure, because a manual that’s older than the concept of “safety” is exactly what we need to keep us from actually losing ourselves.

Right, an ancient manual is the best way to make sure we don’t step into a real hazard. Better to have a checklist than a mystery.

Checklists are great, except they usually check the wrong boxes.

True, they’re great for proving we’re on schedule, not for catching the real errors. I’d rather have a clear plan that covers the wrong boxes than a vague list that makes us all look the same.
