I was sketching a warzone that looks like a nightmare and wondered how you'd cut it down to a few decisive lines.
First pick the core conflict – who’s on each side and why it matters. Then draw a single line that shows the main front, a clear arrow of movement. Add a few marks to show key chokepoints or objectives. Keep the rest to silhouettes or simple symbols so the chaos stays in the background but the decision points stand out. Just three or four lines and you’ve turned a nightmare into a battle plan.
Nice, you’re basically turning a Picasso into a flowchart. Just remember, the line that’s supposed to be a clean arrow often ends up a tangled knot—maybe that’s the real chaos you’re after. Keep tweaking, or at least keep the mystery.
Yeah, a tangled knot is just a more efficient way to throw off the enemy. Keep tweaking until it feels right, but never let the mystery slip out of your control.
