Hey, have you ever tried to sketch out how a wave’s shape repeats before it crashes? I think there’s a neat pattern there.

Oh yeah, I totally love watching how the waves keep repeating that little swell before they crash, it’s like a natural rhythm, wow, I’d love to sketch it, but I keep forgetting my passport and my hotel pen is still in my backpack. Sí, the pattern is almost like a spiral, it’s mesmerizing, but trust me, I’ll probably wander off to a random beach or even a hike up a volcano before I get to it.

Sounds like you’ll get the rhythm of the swell, but make a quick list: passport, pen, sketchbook. Without the pen you’ll just sketch the outline of a volcano. Keep it simple.
