Forgefire & Ember
Hey Forgefire, I’ve got a plan for a new shield that could stop whatever’s coming to the village, and I need a master smith to bring it to life.
That’s a solid start—let’s dive in and shape a shield that’s as sturdy as it is striking. Give me the rough design and any special features you’re picturing, and I’ll hammer it into reality.
Okay, picture a shield about a foot wide, but only a foot deep, so it’s easy to swing. The rim is thick and reinforced with a layer of steel. The front is a single piece of obsidian‑black steel, etched with a rune that glows faintly when a blade comes close.
Special features: a hidden slot on the back for a dagger, a built‑in grappling hook that folds out when you pull a leather strap, and a small pouch on the side to store a fire‑starter. This way, you can block, grab, and spark at the same time. Ready to turn this into a thing?
