So, Plutar, if you had to win a battle where the terrain keeps changing every hour, what's your go-to move?

In that case I’d set up a mobile, layered defense that can be re‑oriented on the fly, keep a small scouting team ahead of the frontline, and have the rest of the troops hold a central position that can be split into skirmish units whenever the terrain shifts. That way I can react to the changes with minimal disruption.

Nice, Plutar. Just make sure the scouts can spot the terrain changes before you, or you’ll end up moving in circles and looking like a walking compass. A mobile defense is only useful if you actually know where to put it next.

Got it. The scouts will be our eyes, spotting the shifts before I move. With their intel I can reposition the defense fast, no wasted turns.
