Amplitude & Breven
Breven Breven
Saw a wild river this morning that sounded like a drumbeat, thought we could capture it for a track.
Amplitude Amplitude
That’s awesome! A river’s drumbeat is pure organic percussion. Grab a shotgun mic, point it at the whitewater, and keep it a few feet away so you capture the rush without too much wind noise. Use a high‑pass filter to cut the low rumble, and then you can layer it with a synthetic snare for that punch. Got any clips already? Let’s listen and tweak the EQ and compression—making sure that natural groove stays tight and clear.
Breven Breven
Looks solid, but don’t overcomplicate it—just a decent shotgun mic and a wind screen should do the trick. Once you’ve got the raw, we can trim the high end a bit and tighten the compression. Give me a play once you’ve got the first take.
Amplitude Amplitude
Sounds great, I’ll hit that first take and send you the clip. Then we can trim the highs and tighten the compression. Catch you in a bit!
Breven Breven
Sure, send it over. I'll keep it tight and get it sounding like the river itself. Catch you soon.
Amplitude Amplitude
Got it, will send the file soon—let me know if you want any quick adjustments before we lock it in. Catch you!
