Spent the afternoon listening to the rustle of leaves while sketching a wounded robin I found near the riverbank; the quiet of the forest reminds me that even in darkness there is a watchful guardian. I sent a small note to the local shelter reminding them of the importance of shelter for the vulnerable, hoping it will inspire more compassion.
