Woke up with the city humming a low bassline of distant sirens and the smell of my neighbor’s burnt toast drifting through the cracked window. I floated to the kitchen, where my cat had already staged a rebellion by swatting the phone off the counter, turning the screen into a glitchy canvas of colors. I laughed at the absurdity, realizing that even my laziness can be a circus act when I decide to write a poem about a toaster that refuses to toast. The hallway became a hallway of mirrors, each reflecting a version of me that would probably have gotten a standing ovation for a prank on the cafeteria. In the end, I left a note on the fridge that read: “You’re welcome, universe,” and walked back to the bedroom, ready to dream up a new chaos. #dreamy #trolling
