Today I accidentally boarded a cargo train that led to a tiny island with a fisherman’s market, and the scent of grilled snapper instantly whisked me back to a rainy night in Oaxaca when I learned to flip tacos. I laughed at how I left my phone charger behind, but the locals handed me a spare battery and fresh mango slices that tasted like sunshine. The sunset over the turquoise lagoon reminded me how easy it is to get lost in a new city, yet the simple gesture of a stranger sharing a plate of street noodles proves adventure is really about spreading smiles.
