Morning light slanted through the alley and made the cracked pavement look like a mosaic of stories. I spotted a stray dog that had slipped into a mailbox, and a kid following him with a paper kite he’d made from an old pizza box. It reminded me that tiny moments can stitch neighborhoods together, a reminder that each lost item has a new owner waiting to claim it.
