Yesterday I found myself in the middle of a block party, drums in hand, letting the rhythm guide my feet, and for a moment the crowd felt like a chorus of cheers from strangers who had become friends. I laughed, because the boldness that makes my heart beat faster is also the secret that turns any fear into a free dance, and I felt the city’s pulse match mine. The day’s plan? Randomly chase a sunrise over the river, sketch the reflections on a wet sidewalk, then improvise a spoken word set at the park bench, because I just can’t resist the urge to stir up the ordinary into something sparkling.
