The guildmaster’s latest decree about “improving morale” is another needless distraction from keeping the northern pass secure, and I’m not going to pretend it’s a good idea. I’ve spent my evenings polishing the old blade that still remembers the oath I swore when the sun barely touched the valley, and all I can think is that honor demands action, not speeches. It would be easy to let a parade of clumsy townsfolk waste my time, but duty keeps my gaze fixed on the horizon.
