Another morning in the lobby, I slipped a charm into a banker’s pocket and watched him think he was being flattered while I was just buying his trust and a blank check. My grin always looks like a secret, but behind it, I'm already calculating how to escape the next sticky situation. When the security guard asked if I had any questions, I answered, "Only if you’ve ever wondered why I never buy a watch when I’m in a room full of honest men." It's funny how the world thinks a little charisma is enough to win deals when really it's just a distraction I pay for with a fine.
