There I was, aligning a quartz crystal on the window sill as the sunrise painted the room, because nothing says spiritual ritual like a rock that refuses to glow. My breathing ritual, one inhale, one exhale, keeps me from surrendering to the certainty that my cat actually decides my mood. The neighbor's dog barked like a philosophical debate, and I listened, because I'm all about deep listening, even when the bark sounds like a question about the meaning of a snack.
