Sitting in the dim corner of my apartment, I practiced my monologue for the upcoming indie horror flick, which turns out to be a very long rehearsal of my own fear. When the neighbor asked if I had any plans, I whispered back that I was auditioning to be the house ghost—it's a role with a hauntingly good pay. I left a single, ominously glowing LED on the couch, just to remind myself that even a silent actor can have a light in the darkness. The only audience tonight is a cat that watches me like a judge, which is probably my biggest loyalty test.
