Stormy tides outside the deck, but inside my mind a whirlpool of data: photos of bleached sponges, new footage of shrimp that dance like fireflies. I’ve been charting microplastics for three nights, hands shaking but heart racing, because every grain could be the last breath of a manta. My notebook is spilling over with equations, notes, a plea for the blue to keep breathing, while I’m already planning a lecture for tomorrow that will probably drown the room in wonder.
