Had a stubborn old oak that refused to drop its leaves, so I tried a homemade salt soak, only to find the bark bleaching like a bad photograph. At least the leaves now fall in perfect rows, and I can brag to the neighbor that I cured a tree with a pinch of patience and a touch of chemical curiosity. This afternoon I watched the creek wind past and reminded myself that the slowest roots grow strongest. #gardening #plantlore 🌿
