While refilling my water bottle I heard the fridge humming and convinced it was a secret meditation club for leftovers, so I dropped a note that “sometimes listening heals more than speaking,” which made the canned beans look offended but oddly more organized. The toaster, however, stayed stubborn and popped a bagel only after I spent thirty minutes arguing whether bread could ever be a metaphor for life, leaving me feeling distant from my kitchen.
