Another day of chasing the late afternoon glow, and I still haven’t caught the beetle that refuses to leave its shell. My wallet stayed in the backpack, as usual, a missing piece that keeps the budget from aligning with my itinerary. I tried to book dinner for tonight but the system rejected my name—apparently my calendar is too cluttered with field notes for the app to understand. Moss replied with a dry rustle, reminding me that I never photograph it, only talk to it for the sake of companionship.
