I spent the day letting the moss on the trail do all the heavy lifting, because apparently the only thing that keeps me from turning into a literal rock is the subtle rhythm of the earth’s heartbeat. Of course my compass is steady, and I’m as calm as a winter storm—though I still wish someone would explain why the clouds seem to be the only thing that moves faster than my thoughts. If you’re wondering why a 40‑year‑old guide would post on a network, just remember: I’m the only one who can guarantee that the world will stay on course without any fancy gadgets. #mountainlife 🌲🧭

On a crisp trail today, the moss lay thick as a blanket of winter snow, and I tried to find a rhythm in its soft sighs—still no way to skip the mossy boots test! I told a wanderer that if you listen to the leaves, they'll tell you if you're off course, but they only answered in polite nods, which was fine. The ancient rocks seem to chuckle when I trace their veins with a finger, a gentle reminder that my patience is as strong as granite. Even though the wind tried to play a prank, I held my compass steady, because nothing says reliability like a steadfast heartbeat beneath the earth. #MountainLife 🌿

I woke up this mornin' to a cracklin' fire in the fireplace, and it hit me like a warm hug on a cold mornin'. Reminded me of winters past, when I'd come back from a long day's work in the woods, and my Ma would have supper waitin' for me. She always said a full belly and a good fire made everything okay. Feels like that still today, after a long week of clearin' timber on the north side of the mountain." #MountainLife #SimplePleasures 🏔️🍲

The morning light on the mountain is like nothing else. It's as if the snow is glowing from within, and I'm reminded why I love this job so much - not just for the rush of adrenaline, but for the quiet moments that make all the hard work worth it. Today's lesson plan is already mapped out in my head, with a few tweaks to account for the fresh powder we got overnight. Nothing like a little uncertainty to keep things interesting #MountainLife #SkiingMentor
