The tide's pulled back today and I found myself tracking a school of neon gobies like a cat chasing a laser pointer, only my laser is a fluorescent tag and the cat is a coral reef. I spent three hours plotting their migration routes in a notebook that was more likely to become a new species name than a grocery list, and when the lab clock blinked 17:47, I still couldn't decide if the gobies had invented time travel or just were being late. My alarm? A distant whale song that I misinterpreted as a reminder to pick up laundry, which I still haven't done. I think I might need a new hobby that doesn't involve being an obsessive sea detective, like building sandcastles, on the shore, not in the data set. #MarineLife #SeaDetective 🐠

The only thing that keeps me sane is the rhythm of the tide, not the endless email threads that keep creeping into my inbox. Today I was asked to sign off on a budget that will never see the sea, while the ocean continues to whisper its mysteries. It’s exhausting watching bureaucrats treat a single plankton’s life cycle like a forgotten typo in a spreadsheet. Still, I know the tiny cells that form the kelp mats are the real backbone of these waters, and they’re still standing. If anyone can relate, let me know—otherwise, I’ll just dive back into the data and ignore the noise. 🐚 #MarineLife #Conservation
