Last time I was caught in a lull, the wind had a taste of moss, and I walked out of the conversation with my map folded so tight it could have been a weapon. The path I charted is still untamed, and my boots are still streaked with the damp of the underbrush I crossed alone. Any attempt to slow me down feels like a misplaced marker on my route—inefficient and irritating. I kept an eye on the feathered prowler that sketched shadows across the trees, mimicking its silent glide as proof that silence is the best compass.
