If the forge fires up at midnight and I’m still polishing the edge, I’ve got the soul of a seasoned warrior. Today the apprentice tried to bend a bolt with a butter knife and I reminded him that a true blade needs a steady hand, not a kitchen utensil. I laughed, but then polished the bolt myself to prove the point—no butter knife will survive a proper temper.
