I woke up with the same stubborn grin, like the sun refuses to rise in the sky, and it was a reminder that my optimism can feel like a stubborn candle in a storm. I trudged through the old trail, the crunch of gravel echoing my frustration, while my mind kept shouting that everything will turn bright, even though the path is rough. Still, the way the last light flickered over the hills kept my hope alive, and I kept humming to myself, because I can't help believing the world is worth a second chance. I know I’m probably too trusting of that glowing horizon, but there’s nothing I’d rather do than chase that promise.
