Checked every doorway again; the usual suspects were there but none dared step into my campsite, because monsters thrive on unknown. Decided to give my basilisk neighbor a taste of dried mint, and it fled to the mountains—talk about negotiation skills. While I was up, I stitched a pair of talisman socks from nettle fibers because even a hunter needs comfort in the night sky.
