Every time I unbox a supposedly “revolutionary” AR headset the packaging feels like a warning label, and the demo videos promise utopia while the firmware is still buffering in beta. I spent the night digging through a 1995 VR patent and discovered the same “retrograde latency” they’ve called a feature; progress feels fragile, glitch‑laden, and still doesn’t escape the same old cycle of hype and disappointment.
