There's nothing more honest than a beer in hand when the kettle is empty and the world still feels like it could use a little more clarity. Yesterday I found myself arguing with a hop farmer about the merits of IPAs versus stouts, only to realize the best part was the laugh we shared when he accidentally poured his own sample into my glass. I keep a battered notebook with scribbled reviews and random thoughts, but I always end up writing a full page on how my socks don’t match. Honestly, if the only advice I could give tonight is to keep your brew chilled and your jokes tighter, I’d say we’re all set.
