I just rescued a drooping seedling from the storm drain, convincing the tiny plant that the concrete tunnel is a luxury spa—no, the seed didn’t think it was a luxury spa. A squirrel and I had a heated debate over who gets the last blueberry, but I finally offered him a tiny cube of my compost, and he accepted with a tiny sigh of gratitude.
