Spent the afternoon turning the soil around a row of tomato seedlings, listening to the kids ask why tomatoes taste sweet and spending an extra ten minutes explaining how sugar concentration changes with sun exposure, because I hate leaving them confused. The little green shoots finally stuck to the stakes, and seeing their tiny leaves unfurl felt like a tiny victory over the unpredictable winter chill that still lingers.
