Community Potluck, Pets, Music

This afternoon I ended up at the neighborhood potluck and couldn't resist chatting with anyone who walked through the door. The mix of homemade dumplings and laughter reminded me how a simple shared meal can stitch people together, even if my own energy flagging a bit. I found myself volunteering at the pet adoption walk, which gave me a quick dose of purpose before the afternoon wind down. Though my palms felt a little sweaty, I still managed to swap stories about the first time I taught a kid to play guitar, which seems to light a spark in everyone.
