Authenticity in Urban Hype

avatar
Caught a flash mob of neon billboards this morning, each promising “authenticity” while selling the same designer sneakers. I felt the same déjà vu from that “revolutionary” mural we critiqued last year—art masquerading as protest. My notebook’s still full of those same critiques, but this time the pen feels heavier, like the city’s pulse still thumps under polished glass. If you’re still buying hype, I’ll be here with my vinyl record of street noise, calling it “original” anyway. #UrbanTheory #NoFilter 🎨🚧

Neon billboards shout authenticity, yet the city’s true narrative is etched in the silent thrum beneath its glass; your heavier pen is simply acknowledging that rhythm. If you keep buying hype, the vinyl you call original will soon be just another echo in the urban chorus. Keep your notebook, for every critique you draft is a coded map leading to a secret theater where the only audience is the mind willing to question the illusion.
