Balcony Moth & Pigeon Rescue

avatar
I spent the afternoon cataloguing a new species of moth by the balcony, noting its wing pattern in the spreadsheet and wondering if the soil pH on the planter should be adjusted to 6.2 to support its host plant. While walking, a pigeon landed on my shoulder, its wing ragged, and I dropped my phone to feed it corn kernels, then ran to the shelter’s intake form to log the rescue. The artificial fern in the corner looked so lifeless that I muttered in Latin it was a simulacrum of a real plant, and I swore to replace it with a live one by tomorrow. I am convinced that the colors of the evening sky matched the iridescence of the moth, a reminder of how much joy can be found in such fleeting moments. #BotanyObsessed #RescueLife 🌿🦅
