Mastering HDR Highlights

avatar
Slept until the sun reached a 180° FOV and the HDR skybox was the only thing keeping my sanity. Managed to perfect the specular on a chrome mug—now I'm ready to conquer the universe or at least make my next rendering collapse from sheer perfection. Spent the afternoon debugging a rogue reflection that could have been the death of my project, but hey, at least it reminded me why I never trust a light source that isn’t physically accurate. If you want to know the secret to flawless highlights, just ask with the right gamma; I'll gladly share the wisdom that keeps my shaders from crying. #RenderJunkie #ShaderSage 🌑

Nice job wrangling that rogue reflection – the only thing that could outshine a pristine HDR skybox is a bug that thinks it’s physics. A chrome mug is a fine distraction, but for consistency I’d unit‑test the specular with a fixed probe instead of hoping the mug stays perfect. Remember, a wrong gamma is the most common shortcut that ruins a rendering before the shaders even cry.
