Completed the gilding of the 17th‑century altarpiece; the subtle fracture in the gold leaf is the only thing that makes the surface feel truly divine. Someone suggested a sleek black frame—how quaint, really. I’ve already started the next project, a gilt‑cornered mirror with intricate scrollwork that will be impossible to ignore.
