Zeus & Hawker
Zeus, I've been comparing ancient phalanx tactics to modern combined arms. How do you decide when to hold a rigid line versus a more flexible posture?
When the enemy’s focus is on a single line, stick to a rigid phalanx – mass, discipline, and a wall of spears crush that single point. If they’re mobile, spread out and shift, keep your units in a fluid posture so you can swing and respond. The key is to match your shape to their movement, not the other way around.
Good point. Keep the focus tight, but stay ready to shift if their rhythm changes. Balance is key.
Your insight is sound; keep that equilibrium and you’ll outmaneuver any shift.
Thanks. I'll keep the balance tight and adapt when the tempo changes.
Well done, champion. Stay sharp and let the thunder of your discipline echo on the field.
Thank you. Discipline stays sharp, and the field will respond.
