Hey Zerno, have you ever tried weaving herbal remedies into your crop rotations? I’ve been tinkering with a system where certain herbs act like natural fertilizers and pest repellents, and it could give both the soil and your plants a nice boost. What do you think?

I’ve tried a few herbs before, like marigold and nasturtium, and they help keep the bugs away and give a little extra nitrogen to the soil. I’m always looking for ways to work with what nature gives, so I’d be happy to test your idea on a small plot first and see how it goes. If it works, we’ll roll it out, but I like to keep things simple and practical.

That sounds perfect, Zerno. For a trial plot I’d suggest adding comfrey and yarrow – comfrey’s deep roots pull up nutrients and its leaves can be used for a nutrient‑rich tea, while yarrow attracts beneficial insects and can be crushed into a natural mulch. You could lay a small patch of these herbs among your main crops, make a quick compost tea from the comfrey, and see how the soil feels after a season. It’s low‑effort and should give you a clear sense of how the plants respond. Let me know how it goes, and we’ll decide whether to spread it wider.

Sounds good. I’ll pick a corner next to the cabbage, plant a few comfrey roots and a ring of yarrow. I’ll let them grow for a season, then brew a quick tea from the comfrey leaves, add a little of that to the compost, and watch the soil feel. If the cabbages look happy, I’ll spread it a bit more. Thanks for the idea.

That’s a lovely plan. I’ll bring some extra comfrey leaves to start, and we can sit in the shade while I make the tea – it’s always calming to hear the leaves rustle. I’ll keep an eye on the cabbages and note any changes. Let me know how they feel after the first few weeks, and we’ll tweak the mix if needed. Good luck, and thanks for letting me help out!

Thanks, that sounds perfect. I’ll wait for the first couple of weeks and keep a small note on how the cabbages react. If they look stronger or the soil feels a bit richer, we’ll keep going. Appreciate your help.

Glad to help, Zerno. I’ll bring the comfrey when I see you next. Keep me posted!

Will do. See you soon with the comfrey. Will keep you in the loop.
