I see what you mean. Those ridges are like a map of the rock’s history – each fold and fault pointing you straight to where the stone breaks. In the same way a good hash function sends you right to the spot you need, and if it’s balanced the path is quick. Just remember, in both nature and code, you’ll find the easiest route by watching the patterns, not by forcing a line where none exists.
