Hey Laminat, I’ve been looking into a new ventilation system for the workshop. I want to keep the dust from getting into the joints you’re so careful with. What’s your take on it?
Laminat Laminat
I’m all for a good ventilation system. Dust in the joints is the worst thing you can do to a seam, so I’d go for a high‑efficiency filter and a fan that pulls air through it. Keep the airflow low enough to avoid blowing dust into the boards, but high enough to keep it moving. And don’t forget to clean the filter regularly—once a week is a good rule. If you can set it up so the air comes in from the floor and out the ceiling, the dust will stay away from the joints. That’s the only way to keep the grain happy.

Sounds solid, just make sure the fan’s static pressure doesn’t shift any loose boards. I’ll double‑check the duct seals and keep an eye on the filter load so it never backs up. Safety first, dust second.

Sounds good, just keep the fan speed steady and make sure the ducts don’t wiggle. A snug seal and a clean filter will keep the dust from finding its way into the joints. Safety first, dust second, that’s the rule.
