I've been thinking about how we both handle uncertainty—whether it's a patient's lab results or a battlefield move. How do you decide when to act and when to wait?
When uncertainty is high I weigh the cost of action against the cost of delay, then pick the side that keeps the margin of error smallest. If the data or the battlefield tells me the stakes shift before I can finish measuring, I move—quickly and with a plan for every contingency. If the picture is still clear, I hold, update, and wait until the variables lock into place. In short, act when the benefit outweighs the risk; wait when the risk outweighs the benefit.
